jeanne: those are cool pics: i'm curious...sometimes (comments on other posts) it appears you are the runner...then i read that you do pictures, then i SEE your pics of a race...so do you RUN w/ the camera...and of course don't worry about your times? (i don't so if you don't we're in the same club)(times, that is...i'm just happy to be moving, mostly!) but i'm SO interested in your photography. I LOVE PICS Of running people! i am just starting to wonder if i could add another GADGET to my runs? i dunno. esp not to race days. and, for LONGER runs, i'm sure i couldn't do both. i wouldn't be able to slog at all if i constantly slowed to snap. WELL, if i find out you runANDshoot, i wanna know what kind of cam you use and weight, etc.!
great job!
God Bless~~~kt

Yes! I DO run and snap! I call myself the Pho-JOG-rapher. Most of my pictures are from events where I ran the whole race as well as photographed it.

Sometimes I run without my camera. If I want to set my PR for a certain distance, run my fastest/best race for whatever reason, or sometimes I'm just NOT in the mood to fiddle with a camera on a run, then I run camera-less.

But I am NOT a fast runner, and I am NOT speed-goal oriented. I am more of a tourist runner, or event runner. It's a social setting for me. I enjoy the photography, I enjoy seeing the beauty and the "stories" of the races, AND I use the races as training for marathons and other LONG events. I don't LIKE training by myself! :-)

Not to mention, I submit my pics to the various running clubs, and often they are published in the club magazines or on club websites.

I am currently using the Minolta DiMage 400 that my husband gave me last Christmas. 4.0 megapixels. I'd asked for a small, lightweight camera that I could carry in races. This FIT the bill, exactly! I LOVE it!
